Appeal for donations for Julianna Kovács
I was born with a skin disorder which has spread almost over the entire right half of my face and forehead. At the age of 1 I as operated on for this in Moscow, and at age 4 once again in Kiev. Unfortunately neither operation had the success desired. On the contrary, certain medical complications resulted, so that today the entire diseased skin is full of superficial scars and even deeper ones. The right side of my nose is deformed, and the lowest part is missing altogether. In October of last year, accompanied by my family, I introduced myself to a specialist clinic for plastic surgery in Debrecen, Hungary, and got information on the possibilities of corrective plastic surgery. Preliminary conditions for this are not especially good in our region, here in Transcarpathia. The procedure to correct the scars with a skin transplant, and the correction of the nose, including the replacement of the missing parts, are possible there. The whole operation would consist of several individual procedures, which could proceed step by step." We at the Transcarpathia Benefit Society Inc. have in our possession a medical invoice from the Clinic for Plastic Surgery in Debrecen, Hungary. The total sum named for all operations amounts to 550,000 Forints, or about 2,400 dollars and must be paid by the patient. The family and relatives of the girl have raised an amount of 215 dollars under great sacrifice. We have been happy to help Julianna Kovács and gradually make available the remaining amount so that the series of operations can be performed.
